Last week we visited schools in Baucau and Manatuto to replace the ceramic filters in the schools' filter units.
These filters were installed last year as part of the ANU/EWB collaborative project that looked at and was named 'Point of Use Water Security in Timor-Leste'.
Abundant Water was again pleased to see schools regularly maintaining their filters and children taking an active role in ensuring filters in their classrooms remained filled!!
Within the trip, the team also met with local vendors, replaced filters in schools and health clinics from previous projects and admired the Cafe School in Baucau's plastic bottle-filled fish!
It's great to see schools highlighting the need to remove single-use plastic water bottles from the country.
