Our program supervisor Chris recently got the chance to visit a recycling plant run by Caltech in Dili!
This plant recycles everything, from plastic bottles, to glass, to cardboard, and even the plastic film used for packaging that so often ends up in landfill.
Using these materials, Caltech make viable, eco-friendly alternatives to plasterboard, pavers, and gutters and are a full circular economy business - nothing is wasted! ♻️
The visit was so successful that Caltech have agreed to partner with us and will recycle all materials from our products! This includes all the bubble wrap, plastic wrapping, cardboard, and other materials which will now contribute to a more sustainable Timor-Leste.
Timor-Leste produces over 100 million plastic bottles a year, so it is important that Abundant Water does its part to help reduce the waste that often ends up in Timor’s pristine beaches and waterways.
Thank you to our program supervisor Chris (pictured above) for being at the centre of this partnership.
